About the Event

Artists:  Bristol Fungarium, Heather Alaya Chan + Phan Tu X Kiarash Darafshi X Josh Doughty

Tone:  Damp earth, dark rose, amber. Shedding, contemplating, dreaming. Candle, storytelling, song.

This is a cosy ritual gathering to entertain all the senses, including the felt one. An intuitive gravitation towards earth after the buzz of Summer with time to dream to music, devour a Mediterranean feast and learn the healing capabilities of Reishi.

We begin by diving into the wisdom of one of the most historically documented mushrooms on earth with Elle from Bristol Fungarium, Heather Alaya Chan, plant ally and wisdom keeper, and Phan Tu, Sound Healer & artist.

Elle is a blazing sun of a human, warm and knowledgeable in a way that invites easy relaxation – be lovingly held by her as she opens the space with some history and folklore of the mushroom. Simple meditation with Alaya calling in the spirit of Reishi, sound with Phan Tu to follow. Ancient texts refer to Reishi as "an elixir of immortality," long used as a talisman of luck, healing, and wellness in Traditional Chinese culture. Served up will be a Reishi Chai - infused with other supportive plants – to inspire a meaningful relationship with the everyday and ancient practice of tea, and the healing capacities of Reishi.

Warming flavours inspired by the Mediterranean, shared platters dotted with pomegranate seeds, foraged wild flowers, fragrant spice, hearty puds. Tea. All Kiarash’s beautiful food will follow! In a way, nothing honours Autumn and togetherness like a big old feast.

And to fully digest the food and ceremony will be Josh Doughty. Josh creates something spellbinding with his music; kind natured and studied with Toumani Diabate himself, we’re so thrilled he closes the party with kora. An instrument that almost ripples like dreams, it'll be a lasting meditation to integrate all the goodness gone on before it.

Magically intimate, contemplative & fun one - come!
